Happiness and Trouble

Ecclesiastes 7:14

When things are going well for you, be glad,

and when trouble comes, just remember;

God sends both Happiness and Troubles;

you never know what is going to happen next.

Do not be supported by a wife.

Sirach 21:22

Never lose your head over a woman's beauty,

and don't try to win a woman because she is wealthy.

When a man is supported by his wife,

there is sure to be Anger, Arrogance, and Humiliation.

A bad wife will make her husband gloomy and depressed,

and break his heart.

Friendship

Sirach 22:19-22

If you stick something in your eye, tears will flow;

and if you hurt a person deeply,

you will discover his true feelings.

If you throw rocks at birds,

you will scare them away;

and if you insult a friend,

you will break up the friendship.

Even if you have a violent argument with a friend,

and speak sharply,

all is not lost.

You can still make up with him.

But any friend will leave you if you insult him,

if you are arrogant,

if you reveal his secrets,

or if you turn on him unexpectedly.

Put my hope in the Lord

Lamentations 3:19-24

The thought of my pain, my homelessness,

is bitter poison.

I think of it constantly,

and my spirit is depressed.

Yet hope returns when I

remember this one thing;

The LORD's unfailing love and

mercy still continue,

Fresh as the morning,

as sure as the sunrise.

The Lord is all I have,

and so in him I put my hope.

Empty promise

Proverb 25:24

People who promise things that they never give

are like

clouds and wind that

bring no rain

Insight

Proverbs 2:11

Your Insight and Understanding

will protect you and prevent you

from doing the wrong thing.

They will keep you away from people

who stir up trouble by what they said.

Warning against Pagan Influences

2Corinthians 6:14-15

Do not try to work together as equals with unbelievers,

for it cannot be done.

How can right and wrong be partners?

How can light and darkness live together?

How can Christ and Devil agree?

What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?

Wisdom and Stupidity

Proverbs 9:7-9

If you correct a conceited man,

you will only be insulted.

If you reprimand an evil man,

you will only get hurt.

Never correct a conceited man;

he will hate you for it.

But if you correct a wise man,

he will respect  you.
Anything you say to a wise man

will make him wiser.

Whatever you tell a righteous man

will add to his knowledge.

Anger
